What we keep, and why.
The whole of it fits on this page. No cookies, no ads, no cross-site trackers — and every record we do keep has one job and an exit.
Who is responsible
Vixoris is the trading name of EI Jean Silga, SIREN 841 454 648, . We are the data controller for everything described here. Questions, requests and complaints go to us — the person who built the product reads and answers.
What this covers
This notice covers the public sites we run:
- vixoris.com — the company site and its writing.
- klatos.vixoris.com — the Klatos site, manifesto and essays.
- waitlist.klatos.app — the Klatos waitlist and its contact form.
- klatos.app — during prelaunch, this forwards to the waitlist.
It does not cover the Klatos application or its sign-in service at id.vixoris.com. Those are not open yet, and when they are they come with their own privacy notice describing what an account keeps — including the cookies that signing in necessarily sets. Everything on this page is about sites you can read without an account.
Just browsing
Reading any of the sites above sets no cookies, shows no ads, and runs nothing that follows you from site to site. There is nothing to consent to, so there is no banner.
Two things do happen when a page loads:
- Fonts. The pages load two typefaces from Google Fonts. Your browser fetches them from Google's servers, which see your IP address as part of that request. Google describes what it does with those requests in its privacy policy.
- Server logs. Our servers record the ordinary access log: IP address, the page requested, the time, and your browser's user-agent string. We use it to keep the sites running and to spot abuse, and nothing else. We keep these logs only as long as we need them to operate and secure the sites, then delete them.
One more, on the Klatos site only: if you arrive through a friend's referral link, the referral code is held in your browser's session storage so it can travel with you onto the waitlist. It is cleared when you close the tab and is never sent anywhere else.
The waitlist
Joining the waitlist is the one place we ask for something. Here is the whole record, why each piece is there, and when it goes.
- What we keep
- Your email address; whether you have confirmed; how you found us (the link you came in on, and the answer you give us if we ask); your referral code and, if a friend brought you, who; the timestamps of joining, confirming and unsubscribing; how many times we tried to send your confirmation.
- Why
- To send you the confirmation link, to tell you the moment Klatos opens, and to credit the friends you bring. We don't sell it, share it, or use it for anything else.
- Legal basis
- Your consent. You asked to join, and you confirm by clicking the link we email you. Nothing goes on the list without that click.
- How long
- Until launch. Once Klatos is live and you've been told, the waitlist has done its work and the records are deleted.
- Leaving
- Every email carries an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing stops the mail. Want the record gone entirely? The unsubscribe page has a delete button that erases it on the spot — email, referrals, place in line. Or write to us and we do it for you.
- The links
- Every link in our emails carries an anonymous token, never your email address.
- Rate limiting
- Your IP address is counted in memory to slow down abuse of the sign-up and contact forms. It is never written to the database.
Writing to us
The contact form on the waitlist site stores your email address, your name if you give one, your message, and where on the site you wrote from, then forwards it to our mailbox. We keep messages for as long as the conversation needs, and delete them when you ask. Email sent straight to our address lives in an ordinary mailbox, under the same rule.
Where it lives, and who else touches it
Everything runs on infrastructure we operate ourselves on servers rented from Contabo GmbH in Germany, inside the European Union. Data is encrypted in transit and at rest.
Two providers handle a slice of the work under our instructions and cannot use it for their own ends:
- Resend delivers our email. To send you a message it necessarily handles your email address and the message body. We use Resend's EU region, so this happens on servers in Ireland, inside the EU.
- Google Fonts, as described above, sees your IP address when a page loads.
That is the complete list. No advertising network, no cross-site tracker, no data broker.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you can ask us at any time to show you what we hold, to correct it, to delete it, to restrict or object to how we use it, to hand it over in a portable form, and to withdraw consent you have given. For the waitlist, the unsubscribe and delete buttons do most of this without asking anyone. For anything else, write to us and we answer within a month. If you think we have got it wrong, you can complain to the French data-protection authority, the CNIL.
Children
Our sites and the waitlist are not aimed at children under 15, and we don't knowingly keep their data. If you believe a child has given us some, tell us and we delete it.
Changes
When what we keep changes, this page changes in the same release, and the date at the top moves. We don't move the date for wording alone.
